Hello children,

Improper Minutes from EXCO Meeting 020207

Attended by Ms Ong, Mrs Yeo, Wai Teng, Carren, Yan Ting, Felissa, Eunice, Karen, Joanne, Brenda

  • All EXCO to assign themselves Sec 2s/3s to monitor in the next few weeks. DHs, mind your own teams
  • To look out for people to remove, as well as outstanding councillors
  • Discipline teachers, not councillors, will do demerit tracking from now on.
  • Councillors to do 'Networking', i.e. nag the students abt their demerits
  • For latecoming, the second offence means an essay on 'punctuality' to be handed up after school. Third offence, 'responsibility'. Fourth offence, 'self-discipline'. Other disciplinary actions, i.e, demerits and detention, still apply.
  • Eating in class becoming way way way too rampant. Instantly book all offenders.
  • The list of Sec 3 Potential EXCO numbers about 8-10. Kind of very little. Do look out.
  • On Monday, on weeks where the dutylist changes, assigned EXCO are to make very very sure that all stations are covered. Ensure all councillors are standing and walking about, looking purposeful.
  • During Silent Reading, all councillors should be standing up walking around ensuring their classes are all reading. EXCO, look out for councillors that do this seriously.
  • Even if a councillor is not on station duty, she is on 'class duty'. Each class that takes a long time to settle down, check to see why the councillors are not doing their duty effectively.
  • TAKE DOWN THE NAMES OF EACH COUNCILLOR THAT YOU SEE NOT BEING A GOOD COUNCILLOR!
  • From now on, during Recess/Lunch periods for each class, no one is allowed to stay in class. Lights, fans, projector must be turned off and class door must be locked. No exceptions, except that in the coming week from Monday to Wednesday, 4S1 is allowed to stay back and eat DRY food, as Mdm Kwan wants them to finish their work. EXCO, you are expected to forgo a recess or a lunch from time to time to patrol around. If you see anyone staying in class during a lunch or a recess, book her. Ms Ong will be making announcements about this
  • Wai Teng will be getting a list of each class's recess timings, so we can work out a proper system later on. Until then, this is a good time to check out the initiative ones.
  • I will try to speak to the council about their being observed and their mindset [a councillor is a councillor even without her badge, it's the heart of service and passion and initiative and integrity that makes them a councillor.] and all that jazz on Monday. Whichever, EXCO, please constantly reinforce this to them. You might sound really really extra, but if we do this together we can make being extra and outstanding a norm in council ! ::D
  • Tuesday and Wednesday are Detention Days. Detention Folder's up already.
  • Friday is Corrective Work Order for whole classes. That's Detention for whole classes that are deemed too dirty/ get 3 yellow cards/ cheese off a teacher. Do note, and inform involved councillors

Phew, that was a long list. Anyway, it's the last sprint to March 20!
Jiayou, EXCO
